Here are the details about the “Living in a Postcard” special exhibit I told you about.
The Eastham Painters Guild was honored to be chosen by the organizers of Massachusetts ArtWeek to be part of this statewide celebration of the arts. As part of our effort, we are holding a special, month-long exhibit at the Eastham Public Library in which all of the artwork will have the theme, “Living in a Postcard.”
Hats off to my colleague Robin Wessman for thinking of this fun and creative theme!
The exhibit kicks off on Thursday, May 2 with a reception at the library from 5 to 6:30 p.m. It will feature a special selection of small 5″x7″ paintings featuring Cape Cod scenes, and all priced at just $75. Plus we’re giving out free bookmarks illustrated with our theme!
During the reception, there will be an interactive session for those interested in plein air (outdoor) painting. Participants will have a chance to move between easels set up in the plein air style; artists will demonstrate their techniques while discussing materials, best practices, etc.
Please stop by! Whether you want to learn from professionals sharing their tips and tricks, or just enjoy looking at art, the exhibit will be a great way to connect with this lovely place we call home.
